Nurse/Health Coordinator

ocsThe Owensboro Catholic Schools and Owensboro Medical Health System have partnered to provide a School Nurse and Health Coordinator. The job responsibilities include supervising the health rooms at each of the OCS Campuses and overseeing the health and well-being of students and staff at each of these schools.

Throughout the school year, health and wellness education are offered to promote the health and safety of your child.  The Health Room Technicians at each school will be available to provide comfort measures, first-aid, and medications, if needed, to your child. Parents are encouraged to communicate with your Health Tech as needed throughout the school year.

The OCS Health Techs are as followed:

Elementary K-3 Campus 684-7583 7:30 am - 2:30 pm
Elementary 4-6 Campus 683-6989 7:30 am - 2:30 pm
OCMS 683-0480 8:00 am - 2:30 pm
OCHS 852-8005 8:00 am - 2:30 pm

ocsDuring registration, you were asked to complete the form “Consent for Non-Prescription Medications Provided by the Schools.”  This form allows the Health Techs to administer symptoms specific over-the-counter medications, (i.e. Tylenol, Advil, Tums, cough drop, etc), at your approval.

Any other medications that you’d like for your child to have, you must bring it in, along with a completed “Consent and Release for Administration of Prescription and Non-Prescription Medication at School 2008-09.”  If you need a consent form, they may be obtained in the Health Room or found on-line

ocsPlease note, Medications, including Prescription & Non-Prescription medication are NOT allowed on the Daviess County School System Buses at any time.

Our goal is to provide a safe and accurate medication administration experience for your child.  We have several guidelines in place concerning our medication administration procedure.  Please do not hesitate to call if you have any questions or health concerns regarding your child.  The School Nurse, Mrs. Sherry Krampe, may be reached at (270)-852-8005 or sherry.krampe@owensborocatholic.org
