The United States Catholic Conference of Bishops recently published the article “Renewing Our Commitment to Catholic Elementary and Secondary Schools in the Third Millennium” in which they stated unequivocal support for Catholic education! They stated;
“We are convinced that Catholic schools continue to be the most effective means available to the Church for the education of children and young people who are the future of the Church”.
We couldn’t agree more! The Owensboro Catholic Schools (OCS) have a prolonged history of providing an excellent education firmly grounded in the Catholic faith, teaching values and morals, and modeling those qualities each and every day for our students to follow.
We have much to be thankful for and a bright future ahead for you and your family! The partnership between the parishes, OCS, and you continues to be a blessing for all. The nearly $3.1 Million contributed by the OCS parishes allows us to keep tuition as low as possible by providing parish-sponsored families with nearly $1900 in tuition savings per enrolled student.
Owensboro Catholic Schools is coming off one of the brightest years ever in our illustrious history!
• Enrollment increased system-wide for the first time in 10 years.
• The completion of the Annunciation Center housing 5 classrooms, a computer lab, and the Hayden gymnasium at the K-3 Campus.
• Academic successes as evidenced by ACRE, ACT and other standardized test averages that are again higher than national and state averages.
• Athletic and academic team performances that have brought both individual and team accolades, highlighted by the cross country team’s 3rd straight State Championship.
We want you and your family to be a part of the Owensboro Catholic Schools. OCS provides you with various ways to help offset the total investment that you will make to give your child(ren) this lifetime gift.
• The Student Aid Form from the Private School Aid Service (PSAS). This form is sent directly to PSAS. No one from OCS will see any of your private financial information. PSAS will evaluate your application and determine your award amount. Over 50% of our current families apply for and receive aid!
• The use of SCRIP SUCCE$$ helped families earn over $90,000 in tuition credit and helped earn OCS more than $100,000!
• Any family who does not currently have a student enrolled in OCS is eligible to receive a $250 New Family Tuition Grant.
