Director's Corner - OCS Registration
July 30, 2008
Thanks to all who helped to create such a wonderful and seamless Registration event yesterday. I know that there was some concern moving the event to one day because of anticipated lines and congestion. I am pleased to report that where there were lines, the wait was short and not very time consuming. From all indications, including the positive comments from many participants, the registration experience was seamless and free flowing. Special thanks go to our school staffs and the many volunteers for working to create such a positive and exciting beginning to our new school year.
For those of you who could not attend Registration yesterday, please know that we missed you and look forward to helping you through the registration process in these days prior to the first day of school. Here is the process that we need you to follow:
1. Visit the OCS website (see the link below) and complete and print the various forms needed by school.
2. Come to Central Office to receive authorization to register. If you are a Parish Sponsored family, bring your parish voucher. If you have not already done so, be prepared to finalize your 2008-2009 tuition payment plan.
3. Take the Authorization Card to each school and finalize registration. Do not forget to bring the completed forms.
In a few weeks, I will convene a group to evaluate the 2008-2009 Registration event. I will ask the group to review all aspects of the event. Your input in that process is important. Please contact me or any member of the Central Office staff and share any insight and/or thoughts you might have. My goal is to continue the process of finding ways to improve Registration.
As I stated in my prayer yesterday morning with those gathered to work Registration, God has surely blessed as a Catholic School family. Those blessings were certainly evident yesterday in the faces of our students as they excitedly wandered the room looking forward to a new school year. Their eagerness to begin again reminds us of or our role as individuals and as a school family in fulfilling God's Mission. We thank God for showering us with His blessings and ask the Holy Spirit to be with us as we work each day to live and share the message of love and family. May all we do bring honor and glory to God our Father!
I appreciate all you do to help us fulfill our mission of excellence in Catholic faith formation and academics. As always, your comments and insights are important to me. I encourage you to keep them coming. I can be reached via phone at 852-8028 and email at ken.rasp@owensborocatholic.org.
God's Peace with each of you!
