Principal’s Notes
Each year we choose a theme to focus on for the school year. This year’s theme is centered around Service. As a school family we will be working on developing a deeper understanding of our service to our community and to one another. I know by working together we can accomplish great things this year. As we grow together, let’s take Paul’s words to the Philippians to heart. “If in Christ there is anything that will move you, any incentive in love, any fellowship in the Spirit, any warmth or sympathy – I appeal to you, make my joy complete by being …one in love, in heart, and one in mind …everyone pursuing not selfish interests but those of others.”

Holy Spirit, in Jesus we have example of life and fellowship to follow as we work with one another. Help us to follow His example with determination and joy.

If you are interested in being active in our school, please let us know. Our school has a wonderful and active Parent/Teacher Organization. Our first PTO meeting will be Wednesday, September 10, 6 PM at the K-3 Campus. Come be apart of us.

Accelerated Reader News
Our AR incentives and goals are set for the 2008-2009 school year. Remember AR counts as one Reading grade. For example: If a student is required to earn 10 points per quarter and only earns 9 points, the student will receive a 90% to count as one of his/her reading grades. This year incentives will only be given to those students who earn their quarterly goals, so get to reading!

ocsStudents investigate the physical properties of mass density and volume. Cylinders of equal mass but different volume were measured. Their difference in volume was calculated by immersing the cylinders in a graduated cylinder filled with water. ocsThe data generated was recorded and will be further analyzed to determine density.
