Advent Service Project
This year the students will be Toils of Joy to earn money for the purchase of hats, gloves, and scarfs for men, women and children to benefit the Pitino Shelter. According to local community representatives there is a great need for these items this year. Items may be brought in any time during the Advent Season beginning November 28th.
Owensboro Christmas Card Contest Winners
The Owensboro Art Museum sponsored a contest to choose the design for Owensboro’s Annual Christmas Card. Two of our students’ drawings were chosen from hundreds of entries. Madison Warren placed third in the contest and Benjamin Conkright won first place. Benjamin’s drawing will be reproduced for Owensboro’s 2011 Christmas Card. He was also awarded a $100.00 Savings Bond. Both students were honored at the Owensboro City Commission Meeting on November 15th. You may see their drawing and many others at the Owensboro Art Museum beginning December 2nd.
Veteran’s Day Program
This month our student representatives from the Boy and Girls Scouts led the school in honoring our veterans. Mrs. Blandford organized the program and music.
Thanksgiving Collection
Students brought in personal care items and canned food times during our Thanksgiving Liturgy on November 17th. The students were encouraged to perform chores or acts of kindness to collect their specific items. All items collected went to the St. Joseph and Paul Food Pantry.
