CATHOLIC SCHOOLS:  Light the Way

T-SHIRT DESIGN

Each student and his/her family were asked to design a t-shirt which represents some ways we share our Catholic faith based on this year’s theme:  Catholic Schools:  Light the Way.  The winner of our t-shirt design is Will Mullican.

 

TELEPHONE BOOK RECYCLING

The Environmental Club from Owensboro Catholic High School will be recycling old phone books.  On January 28, new phone books were delivered.  You may send your old telephone books to the 4-6 Campus between January 28 and February 8, and students from the Environmental Club will take them to be recycled.

 

LENTEN SERVICE PROJECT

This year our students will be playing “Zap the Penny” to raise money for Food for the Poor.  Food for the Poor is an interdenominational Christian relief and development organization working primarily in 16 countries in the Caribbean, Latin America, and the United States to assist the poorest of the poor.  Students will be shown a video following our Ash Wednesday Mass pertaining to this important project.  Attached you will find additional information concerning this project and an explanation of how the “Zap the Penny” contest works.

 

VOLLEYBALL CAMP

• Bishop McRaith and all priests for celebrating the Liturgy with us on Wednesday.  You are truly the Light that leads us.
• Parents, who prepared and served the teachers and staff a delicious lunch on Tuesday, also we appreciate all those great treats that kept appearing in the lounge during the week.
