Catholic Schools Week Activities - The theme this year is Faith, Academic, Service Catholic Schools
Monday (Jan. 30th) School Families
7:45 AM Opening Prayer
At 1 PM, Diocesan Spelling Bee! Josh Sloan will be representing our school. The spelling bee will be at Sts. Peter & Paul School in Hopkinsville.
5:30 PM – 7:00 PM – Pizza Dinner
(Pizza, breadsticks, salad, and dessert will be served to our families in appreciation for all they do for our school)
5:30 PM – 8:00 PM – Book Fair
(In appreciation to our parents and students, no homework will be given to the students today)
Tuesday (Jan. 31st) – Academics
Students will show their appreciation for our teachers by dressing as one of their favorite teacher or coaches.
Teacher luncheon sponsored by the OCES PTO.
12:30 – “How SMART Are You? Academic Quick Recall Competition
Shirt designs reflecting the Catholic Schools Theme are due (Family Project)
Teachers choose one t-shirt design to represent their classroom.
Wednesday (Feb.1st) Service
In honor of our community service workers, students may dress as their favorite community service worker. For example: Doctor, Nurse, Fireman, Military, etc.
Community Service Presentation 12:30 – Representatives from various community service fields will speak to the students concerning their jobs and responsibilities.
Students will write “Thank You” notes to certain community service personnel. (Thank you cards will be provided. Cards must be done by the assembly so they may be given to the speaker.)
Students will choose their favorite t-shirt design
Thursday (Feb. 2nd) – Faith
9:00 – Prayer Service
Students may wear jeans with their Faith in Education shirts. No shorts or athletic pants.
In appreciation for our students, the afternoon will be dedicated to playing their favorite board games. Students may bring to school their favorite board games.
Announce Winner of the T-shirt Contest
Friday (Feb. 3rd) – No School! Enjoy the long weekend.
(Each student has written an essay on the Importance of Catholic Schools. The essays will be displayed in the hallways. Some students will share their essays with the school each day of Catholic Schools Week.)
BOOK FAIR HOURS
To encourage reading, OCES 4-6 Campus, will be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair, January 30-February 2, during Catholic Schools Week. Each student will visit the book fair during the school hours. We hope you and your family will stop by the fair as well. You can visit the fair during school hours (see classroom schedule below) and during our special Family Pizza Dinner on Monday, January 30th, from 5:30 – 7:30 PM
All purchases benefit our school. Through the Book Fair we are also building classroom libraries. You can purchase books from the teacher’s “Classroom Wish List” and donate it to the classroom library.

Tuesday: 8:00AM – 12:15 (Closed 12:30 – 2:00 Quick Recall Competition)
2:30 - 4:30 PM (parents must accompany student after 2:30)
Wednesday: 8:00 AM – 12:15 (Closed 12:30 – 2:00 Service Assembly)
2:30 - 4:30 PM (parents must accompany student after 2:30)
Thursday: 8:00 AM –1:50 PM (Closed for 9 AM Prayer Service) Last Chance! Students must
have money with them.

Please remember to keep a positive balance in your child’s account. Delinquent account letters go home with students every Thursday. Please check backpacks. Remember you can review your child’s lunch account or pay on-line.
