Stations of the Cross
Each week during Lent, the students will be participating in the Stations of the Cross. Teachers will put their Stations’ schedule in the Weekly Classroom Reports.
Lenten Service Project
During Lent our school will take time to think about how much the Gospel means to us and how well we are living up to God’s law of love. In an effort to become more prayerful and to share what we have with those who are in need, we will have a “Loose Change Drive” to aid Connie, a little girl in Mandeville, Jamaica. The money will go towards her tuition and care.
Wishing the OCES 4-6 Campus Future Problem Solving and Academic Teams GREAT SUCCESS this weekend!
Cafeteria News
Please see the March menu. Many of the students are developing large account balances. Delinquent account balances are sent home each week. Please check with your child to make sure their account balance is okay. Parents are encouraged to keep a positive balance. If you have any questions concerning your child’s account, please contact Ms. Becky.
Power Break
Due to the observation of Lent, we will not be having Power Break on Fridays. Students may eat breakfast from 7:00 to 7:30 on those mornings.
Family/Student Directories
The 2008-2009 Family/Student Directories are ready for printing. This year it will include both Elementary schools and the Middle school families and students. You may order as many as you need at a cost of $1.00 per directory. Please complete the attached pre-paid form and return to school by Friday, March 6th.
Prayer for the Selection of a Bishop
Maybe during Lent you can find time to pray for a new Bishop for our Diocese. Here is the prayer:
Almighty God, giver of every good gift, You are our eternal shepherd and guide. In your mercy, grant your Church in Western Kentucky a shepherd who will walk in your ways and whose watchful care will bring us your blessings.
Send your Spirit of wisdom upon those who are to select a new Bishop of Owensboro. Give us a leader of vision and a teacher of your truth. So may your Church be built up and your name glorified.
We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
WFC Fundraiser
Tuesday, March 3, is the end of the WFC fundraiser. All money, unsold chocolate and donations must be into the school by this date. Thank you for your support of this fundraiser.
Liturgy
Mrs. Castlen’s fifth grade students will plan the Mass for March 5th, 9 AM. We look forward to Father Bruce McCathy joining us as the celebrant. We hope that your schedule will allow you to join us, also.
