Why We Have Hurricanes
By: Raychel Bahnick
A long, long time ago there was wind and water and they didn’t get along. That’s why wind stayed in the sky and water stayed on the ground. One day wind got really sick and water had a bad headache. So wind got so sick he started to make big waves and that got water really mad because water had a bad headache. This went on for days ’til one day water got so mad that he decided to do something. He made the biggest waves that he could and he crashed them into land and smashed all the homes and cars. When wind saw this he felt sorry for all the people on land so he thought he could save them. So he made strong wind and tried to pick them up and bring them to safety. But he just made it worse! It got so bad it made a new tropical storm that we now call a hurricane. So that’s how we got hurricanes.
Why Snowmen Melt
By: Becca Ballard
Long, long ago a little kid made the first snowman. After the kid made the snowman and had gone into her house, her snowman came to life! This snowman was very intelligent, so when it was time for spring, he secretly built a small town under the ground, so when a snowman melts, their body goes into the small, cold town until winter. That is why snowmen melt.
