ocsAdvent Collection
The students are doing a great job collecting money for Connie, a little girl in Jamaica to help pay for her school tuition and living expenses. Each class will be collecting money to see who can bring in the most money. The class in each grade level who brings in the most money will receive a non-uniform day.

 

 

 


oAR Movie
On Wednesday, December 16th, the students who reach their second quarter Accelerated Reader goal will enjoy a movie and popcorn. Second quarter deadline is Monday, December 14th. Has your child reached his/her A/R goal?

LOOK WHAT’S HAPPENING AT THE 4-6 CAMPUS!

csFourth graders recognize form in music with expressive movement to classical music. Students in 4B are shown reacting to Beethoven’s Fur Elise. The DVD was created by Peggy Lyman and John M. Feierabend.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

ocsFifth grade students performed at St. John United Methodist Church for a Saturday Musicale Program. “A Tribute to Lincoln” was presented on Saturday, November 14th. Students participating in the program were: Ashleigh Deno, Molly Payne, Tricia Thompson, Megan McCarthy, Brooklyn Reynolds, Grace Wright, Hope Johnson, Sydney Sandefur, Allie Kuntz, and Thomas Self. Virginia Blandford was the program leader.

 

 

 

 

 


ocsMike Lewis and Steve Bittel visited Mrs. Castlen’s Social Studies classes. The students learned about ways to conserve energy in their homes. They also learned that one can’t see or smell natural gas. For safety reasons a chemical is added to give the gas an odor. The students were able to smell what this odor is like.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

ocsMichelle Kavanaugh and Tara Ford came to the fourth grade Science classes to explain the importance of seatbelt safety.
