Elementary 4-6 Campus Newsletter
January 4, 2008
Welcome
We are glad to welcome two new students and their families to our school community. Haley Davis joins Ms. Estes’ fourth grade class and Skyler Hawkins is a welcome addition to Mr. Thompson’s sixth grade class.
Inclement Weather
Owensboro Catholic dismisses school whenever the Daviess County Schools do because of bus transportation. Normally, a decision has been reached by 6 a.m., or the previous day. These announcements are made over the radio stations WOMI, WVJS, WSTO, and WBKR, as well as on cable channel 8 or 75. They are also often made on the area’s television newscasts. Please see the attached information concerning delays due to the weather.
Health Assessments
In October, your child participated in the Health Survey program, sponsored by Owensboro Medical Health System. Attached was your child’s confidential health report.
Help Needed
Mr. Spurlock, a teacher at OCMS, is seeking a parent who would be willing to transport his son from the 4-6 Campus to the middle school in the afternoons. If you can help, please call Mr. Spurlock (evenings) at 691-0022, or e-mail him at philip.spurlock@owensborocatholic.org. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You to:
- parents for all the delicious goodies and great gifts you sent in to the staff and faculty during the weeks before the holidays.
- parents and students for their generous gifts to our needy Christmas family. This was a school wide project and we are very pleased to tell you that we were able to give the family over $3,000.00. We are truly blessed to have a school community filled with the true Spirit of the Christ Child.
- to Ms. Hardesty’s students and Father Brad Whistle for leading us in the Liturgy on Thursday.
Reminder:
- Jan. 9th – deadline for the World’s Finest Chocolate permission slip. The permission slips, incentive information and other details were sent home on Jan. 3rd. If you did not receive the WFC packet, please call this school office (683-6989).
- Jan. 10th – 8:15 AM Prayer Service lead by Ms. Glenn’s students.
Future Lady Aces
All girl basketball players are invited to the “Future Lady Aces” night January 7 for the OCHS v. McLean Co game. Players will be admitted free and introduced at half time. All players need to wear their jerseys to the game.
