Elementary 4-6 Campus Newsletter

  • Inter-State Studio will be here on Friday, November 16th, for picture retakes.  This date will be for students whose pictures were unacceptable (return entire package) and for anyone absent on the first setting.
  • November 14th marks the midpoint of the second quarter.  Grade reviews will be conducted and deficiencies sent home on November 16.  Sports suspensions, is any, will be the week of November 19th.
  • Thanksgiving Mass 9 AM on November 15th.  Ms. Branch’s students will lead the liturgy with Fr. Pat Bittel as our celebrant.  Join us in celebration.
  • Be sure to read the baseball information that was attached.

ocsCAFETERIA NEWS

On Tuesday, November 20th, we will serve Little Caesar’s Pizza for lunch.  Please fill out the attached form indicating what you child will be eating for lunch on that day.  If your child would like extra pieces of pizza, there must have enough money in his/her account.  Extras may not be charged.  Please return the completed form to the school by Tuesday, November 13th.

ocs4-H SPEECH CONTEST

We are so proud of the forty-eight students who are busy practicing for the speech contests this coming Tuesday and Wednesday. The 9-10 years old will compete on Tuesday, November 13th and the 11 + year olds will compete on Wednesday, November 14th.  Both competitions will be at College View School at 6:45 PM.  Please keep these students and the judges in your prayers.

ocsTHANKGIVING LITURGY

On November 15th, we will celebrate our Thanksgiving Liturgy.  As is our custom, we will ask the students to donate a canned food item.

ocsLOOK WHAT’S HAPPENING AT THE 4-6 CAMPUS!

Grade 6 ScienceStudents in Mr. Calhoun’s Sixth Grade Science class are shown investigating electromagnetism.  As part of their investigation they constructed and tested an electromagnet,  constructed a model of an electromagnetic field, and used a galvanometer to test for electron flow and the resulting magnetic field produced.

ocsFifth Grade students taped their questions for Fox Channel 7’s “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader.”  These tapes started airing locally on Thursday, November 8 and will air periodically.  Tune in to see the following students try to stump the Fox Channel 7 panel:  Andrew Wilson, Georgia McMaster, Leslie Kuntz, Adam Hayden, Morgan Mattingly, Emily Hoesli, Alex Hayden, Lillie Goetz, Darcy James, Jack Padgett, Katelyn McCarthy, Olivia Cason.
