Reminders
- Fall Break October 8-12. Enjoy family time. See you back on Monday, October 15th and ready to start the second quarter.
- Last Day for Shorts – October 15th.
- Reports Cards go home on Wednesday, October 17th. 2006-2007 CAT-6 results will be in the envelope also.
- Parent-Teacher Conferences – October 18th. Please call the school office (683-6989) if you need to reschedule.
- Health Assessments for all students at the 4-6 Campus is Friday, October 19th. The Owensboro Medical Health Park Team is looking for volunteers. Call the school if you can help 8AM – 1PM, or even half day.
- PTO Steak Dinner and Auction – Saturday, October 20th at 6:30. Tickets are available at each school site or call any PTO officer. Don’t forget your donated item for the classroom theme basket.
- Basketball/Cheerleading Sign-Up
Oct. 16 & 18 at 4-6 Campus
5:30 – 7:00 PM
- Basketball evaluations: Oct. 22 & 25 at 4-6 Campus - Gr 3 & 4 5:30 – 6:45 PM - Gr 5 & 6 6:45 – 8:00 PM
- In the OCES Student/Parent Handbook it notes that if a student receives 5 or more tardies/ time dismissed, he or she will not receive perfect attendance. In an effort to keep documentation of the time(s) a student leaves during the day or early dismissal we have entered them into our school management program as “tardies.” We have noted in the program the reason for the time away from school. These will appear on the student’s report cards as “tardies.”

LOOK WHAT’S HAPPENING AT THE 4-6 CAMPUS!
Students in Mr. Calhoun’s sixth grade science class are seen constructing models called “divers.”
These “divers” demonstrate the physical properties of density and buoyancy. One application of these properties is in the mechanics of how a submarine works.
