OCS Calendar

Welcome!
We are so excited you have chosen the Elementary 4-6 Campus for your child this year. We are off to a fantastic start and look forward to a fabulous year.

We have many new faces this year and would like to welcome our new families. Our enrollment is currently 275 an increase of about 20 students. We also have many new additions to our faculty: Heather Clemens, Amanda Jones, Emily Brown, Ginny Coomes, Theresa Sauer, and Blake Edge who is filling in for Mr. Calhoun. Everyone is doing an awesome job and we are thrilled to have them at the Elementary 4-6 Campus!

Weekly e-mails are sent out at the beginning of each week. If you are not receiving these e-mails, please contact Karen Gross for more information.

Classroom newsletters
are sent out each Monday to the parents. Please make sure you check for these each week.

Faculty and Staff e-mail addresses are available for your convenience through our website.

Communication between school and home is the key to your child’s success. Please let us know if you ever have any questions or concerns. We are always ready to assist in making this a great year for your child.

Accelerated Reading News
We have many new titles for the students to choose from this year. Our first quarter cut-off is October 3rd, so get to reading.

Cafeteria News
Power Break began this week. Power Break is a time for the students to grab a snack or eat breakfast sometime between 8:30-9:00 each morning excluding Mass days. The items purchased by your child will be charged to his/her account.

  • Items to be provided: Pop Tarts, Yogurt, Milk, Capri Sun, Water, Main Breakfast Items, Chex Mix, Cheese Crackers, etc.
  • Students may also bring water and a snack item from home for Power Break each day.

Curriculum Night
We hope to have as many parents as possible. Please make every effort to attend Parent Information Night on THURSDAY, September 1.

It will help your child get off to an even better start this school year! This night will answer many of your questions about what to expect this year for your child's grade level. Teachers will address the curriculum, homework policies, studying tips, and more. Parents will also have an opportunity to ask questions. This is an evening for parents only, so please make other arrangements for your children.

If you have more than one child at the Elementary 4-6 Campus, teachers will give their presentation two times. The first will begin at 6:00 and last about 20 minutes. An announcement will be made over the PA when the first Curriculum Information session is over, and at that time parents may go visit a different teacher. Sixth grade parents will meet in the cafeteria at 6:00 for one presentation with the sixth grade teachers.

The Co-curricular Teachers in Music, Library, Art, and Computer will also be available. You may choose to go to one of these classrooms to hear about what your child will be doing each week.

Special note:
September 15—Owensboro Catholic Schools Mass at the Sports Center at 10 AM. Join us for the celebration of the new school year and in thanksgiving for blessing of the Church, Family and Community support.

Afternoon Front Pick-Up
Please remember to park on the north side of the street and pull in close to the car in front of you. Parents need to remain in their cars if they are parked in this line. This allows for speedy pick-up. The students will be dismissed to their cars once you are in front of the building and all cars are stopped. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
