Elementary K-3 Campus Newsletter
August 2009
Welcome to the 2009-2010 School Year at the K-3 Campus. Please mark your calendar for Curriculum Night on August 27 at 6:00. This will be a wonderful opportunity for parents to hear about the curriculum, classroom routines, homework policies, and to ask questions.
This is for parents, so please make other arrangements for your children.
News and Reminders:
- Parents are always welcome to volunteer or to come eat lunch with their child. [Please call by 9:00 if you will be eating a school lunch, so the cafeteria will have enough for everyone!]
- Every Friday is “Faith in Education” Spirit Shirt Day. Students may wear their Faith in Education shirt with their uniform pants or shorts. The last Friday of the month will be a Free Dress Day for all students.
- Please check your child’s backpack every day for important information and/or homework assignments.
Morning Drop Off
Reminder that cars CAN go around busses parked at the end of the building- even if the STOP sign is out. Car Riders may drop children out anywhere from the front door to the end of the building. Staff members will be there to supervise. Students may enter the front door OR the side cafeteria door. Students who arrive before 7:30 will be directed to the cafeteria. Breakfast is served until 7:35.
Afternoon Dismissal
In the afternoon, parents who pick up should get out of the car and walk up to the front row, so that children will easily find their ride.
For the first few weeks Kindergarten students will stay in the “coned” area until a parent or sibling gets them. There is only ONE car rider dismissal this year. Every one is dismissed at 2:30.
Electronic E-mail News
At the beginning of each week, and as announcements and reminders are needed, the K-3 Campus will send out electronic e-mail with important information.
If you are not currently receiving this, we encourage you to sign up at: owensborocatholic.org
Simply click on Newsletters at the top. From there you can sign up for Electronic Newsletters from any school site, as well as from our Central Office.
The K-3 Campus Office will only send home a “paper” Newsletter once a month. Classroom teachers will send home a weekly Newsletter. Please read these carefully for important information and post the calendar of events in a prominent place in your home.
