ocs The first full week of school went very well! The students are all beginning to learn the routines and expectations of school. Ask your child to tell you about the “Guidelines for Success” that we follow and the CHAMPS charts the teachers use as a guide for classroom behavior.

Morning drop off and afternoon pick up is getting better!

Morning Drop-Off Reminder: Please have your child at school by 7:45! When dropping off in the morning- pull up as close as possible to the front door. Once 7-8 vehicles have come to a stop-children should exit these cars on the same side as the school. It is important to keep the line moving as quickly, efficiently, and safely as possible. It is not always possible for a staff member to open the door for every child.

Afternoon Pick-Up Reminder: Please fill all of the parking slots in the school parking lot before parking in the “overflow” church lot. If it becomes necessary to park in the church lot due to lack of space, parents must still wait for the signal to dismiss and must dismiss by following the cars in the school lot to Steele Drive. A staff member will be there to direct you.

Elementary K-3 Campus Traffic Flow

ocs Accelerated Reader will begin on September 2. We are in the process of setting up the system for the new school year. More information will be sent home next Friday.

White Out Shirts- The last day to order White- Out Shirts is September 3. Forms are available online or in the school office. You can turn your forms in to any of the school sites. The Football Game for the White-Out is immediately following the PTO Tailgate party on September 26. Students who have one, may wear their White-Out shirts to school on September 26 or they may wear their Faith in Education Shirts.

Students who want to eat breakfast at school must arrive by 7:35 each morning in order to eat and get to class on time!
