Lenten Season
All are invited to Ash Wednesday Mass on February 25 at 9:00 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Each morning we will begin the day with a Lenten Meditation that will build each day to tell the story of Christ’s Passion and Resurrection. Each day a picture will be hung in the hall with along with a scripture verse.
Our focus this Lent will be on personal prayer with God. Students will make a special prayer rock to bring home and lay beside their beds to remind them to pray each morning as they get up and each night before bed. Students will also make Prayer Journals which they will write or draw in several times a week. These will be sent home on Good Friday.
Along with our daily Lenten Meditation, each individual classroom will go over to the church once a week to pray the Stations of the Cross.
We will be in school this year on Good Friday- April 10, there will be a special service that day. More information will be sent home about that later.

Below is a prayer that the Diocesan Office of Liturgy recommends all the faithful pray for the selection of our new bishop. Maybe as part of your families Lenten goals, you could pray this together each evening.
Prayer for the Selection of a Bishop for the Diocese of Owensboro
Almighty God, giver of every good gift, You are our eternal shepherd and guide. In your mercy, grant your Church in Western Kentucky a shepherd who will walk in your ways and whose watchful care will bring us your blessing.
Send your Spirit of wisdom upon those who are to select a new Bishop of Owensboro. Give us a leader of vision and a teacher of your truth. So may your Church be built up and your name glorified.
We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
