Elementary K-3 Campus Newsletter

Dear Parents,
Just a quick note to let you know about some NEW choices on the lunch menu here at K-3. Starting in March we will offer a Chef Salad daily. The salad will consist of lettuce, 1 oz. cup shredded cheese, 1 oz. cup of diced ham, crackers, croutons, choice of dressing. The Chef Salad will be served with fruit and milk or juice. The Bag Lunch is offered daily. We will no longer be able to offer the PBJ Uncrustable. The students will have the option of a Peanut Butter Sandwich with or without jelly.
National School Breakfast Week is also celebrated in March. We are fortunate here at the K-3 Campus to be able to offer the students a hot breakfast everyday, as well as several other choices. Research shows students who eat a nutritious breakfast do better in school.
We enjoy serving your children each day and try to make lunch an enjoyable time for the students. You’re invited to come have lunch or breakfast with your child and see what’s going on in the cafeteria here at the K-3 Campus. Please call the office by 9:00 and place your order so we can properly prepare for you.

Pre-Registration
Pre-Registration for the 2010-2011 School Year begins March 15 and ends March 26. You will receive forms in the mail in the next few weeks. You may return your form to any of the Owensboro Catholic Schools. New this year- We are also asking that you send in your parish voucher WITH your registration form. Pastors have agreed to send those vouchers out now rather than wait until the summer. This will help speed up the registration process.
Open House
The K-3 Campus and 4-6 Campus will have an Open House on March 11 from 6:00-7:30. This is for anyone interested in joining the Owensboro Catholic School Family. If you know of a potential family, please tell them about Open House and invite them to come and find out more about our schools! If you know a family that needs to be personally contacted or who is not receiving information about us, please call the school office and give us their name and address and we will make sure they are on our mailing list!
WFC Free Dress Days
Next Week –Students will get Free Dress Days for selling boxes of chocolate bars. Your child will bring home a coupon indicating the number of Free Dress Days they get. Students had to have all money and chocolate bars turned in on time to get their Free Dress Day. Students get one Free Dress Day for each box of chocolate sold, for up to five days.

PTO News
Thank you to all of our parent volunteers who helped with the PTO Auction Dinner held February 20. It was a wonderful evening of fun and friendship. A lot of hard work went into this event to make it such a success!
There will be a PTO Meeting next week at the 4-6 Campus at 6:00 PM. Please join us! This is an important meeting to discuss officers for next year! We will also have a report on the success of the auction and disucss other upcoming events. See the attached sheet for information about PTO Officers and Committee Chairs. There are opportunities for everyone to volunteer!
