Learn About Recycling

Students in Mrs. Coomes and Mrs. Calvin's 3rd grade classes learn that "nothing" should ever be thrown away! Everything can be recycled and reused in some way. Students worked in cooperative groups to find ways to make a new creation out of stuff collected from garbage. The students were very creative. One group created a pirate ship with a working cannonball and another recreated a simulation of a recycling plant! This is lesson was the "kick off" for a Unit planned by Mrs. Coomes for her KTIP on Recycling.
