Statue of Liberty - Math and Literature
April 27, 2009
3rd Grade students at the K-3 Campus integrated math and literature. After reading a short story about the Statue of Liberty, students headed to the gym. They used multiplication and measuring skills to show different lengths and widths of parts of the statue. Children used yarn to show the height of the pedestal and height from the statues heel to head; height of the tablet held by Lady Liberty, and even the thickness of her waist.
