Ghost Out
April 2008
The OCHS SCRUBS group organized a 'Ghost Out' day to bring awareness of drinking and driving deaths. It was an emotional day for students as 16 of their classmates were escorted out of class since they were 'killed' in a driving accident. Those students then went to the hospital to see what would happen in the event of a fatal accident and how their parents and friends would be notified.
The students then 'returned' to school for an assembly. At the assembly several speakers addressed the students about their experiences with drinking and driving and also the poor choices made. Father Brad Whistle then read each of the obituaries of the students their parents wrote.
Thanks to the SCRUBS group for organizing this powerful and emotional event.
